Managing change is a critical element in any improvement effort.  Sustainable change occurs when organizations and individuals adapt to enable it.  This means that an organization must understand and support the change so that everyday thoughts and actions reflect the new way of doing things.  This usually necessitates a change in individual behaviors and often links to organizational culture.

We work with our clients to:

1. Determine the capacity of an organization for change
2. Engineer change management strategies
3. Help leaders model appropriate behaviors
4. Create organizational structures that enable sustainability
5. Build collaborative environments
6. Strengthen teamwork and communication
7. Identify and remove barriers to change
8. Align training with change initiatives
9. Gauge effective change

We often encounter organizations who are frustrated because their efforts to institute new systems or processes are unsuccessful.  Even if the change works initially, they soon find themselves reverting back to the old ways of doing things.  Management and associates are all equally frustrated, and their desire to engage in more change-focused activities is muted at best.  Situations like this are usually the result  of engaging in well intended initiatives without recognizing the need for structural and/or behavioral change.

"Leaders who wish to change their organizational culture cannot do so by edict. They must intervene and require people to behave differently, allowing them to experience a better set of results. As this process is repeated, a different set of values and beliefs — a new culture — will evolve."  (Institute for Healthcare Improvement)
