Non-profit organizations deliver services to their members, clients and their community.  In some ways managing a non-profit is similar to managing a for-profit business, but in other ways it is unique.  We utilize many of the same tools when working with either type of entity.  However, our approach to planning with non-profit organizations is unique.  We offer the management and board the opportunity to use either forward or reverse planning.  Two reverse planning processes we use are "working backwards from perfect", a hoshin planning concept, and we have recently begun focusing on RBA, Results Based Accountability.

We partner with our not-for-profit clients to ensure:

1.  Mission, vision and outcomes provide strategic guidance and direction
2.  A well organized and focused administration is aligned behind mission and goals
3.  A performance management structure ties the organization to its plans
4.  Strategic and annual planning are aligned with mission and outcomes
5.  An annual planning and budgeting process supports organizational strategy
6.  Events, programs and services result in desired outcomes
7.  Layered metrics reflect strategic and organizational effectiveness
8.  Accountability exists to the organization and to members, clients and the community

When working with not for profit organizations, we focus on effectiveness and accountability using our alignment model, which you can download below.
